High School and Beyond Plan

A new state requirement for Seniors to graduate is completing the High School & Beyond Plan.  This plan involves the following components:
  • Career Cruising Portfolio - Students complete goal setting, career and college research, interest and skills assessments, and much more over their 4 years in high school. By their senior year, students will have completed this portfolio and have a good idea what their next steps beyond high school are.
  • Credit check and transcript - Students have been reviewing credits that they have passed to make sure they are on-line for graduation.
  • JAS Interview - Seniors identify their career of choice and will interview someone in that pathway.  This valuable activity gives seniors a connection to someone working in a career they are considering.

Scholarships available

All students - Freshmen through Seniors should be checking for Scholarships in the Career Center.  It is not too late to apply.  See Mrs. Watts or Mrs. Spencer for current scholarships that are available.

Sophomore JAS

All Sophomores will be participating in JAS - Job Acquisition Skills through their English classes.  Students are busy building a resume, writing a cover letter and reference page and filling out an application for employment.  On May 25th and 26th, business members from our community will volunteer to conduct 'mock' interviews with students.  It is a great learning experience and just in time for summer employment.  Students will be ready for the real thing.  Students need to come dressed appropriately and prepared to answer interview-type questions.
